A romantic hideaway of understated luxury. With total space of 100 sqm, this private villa can accommodate up to 3 adults comfortably. Located 3 km outside of Ubud it's very close to all main attractions. The Villa has spacious bedroom with spacious ensuite bathroom, open living room, kitchen, dinning area, and of course the private pool. The villa is walled in 4 sides, so it provides total privacy and security. There are 3 other villas in the compound, in the middle of rice field.
Since JUNE 2017, we finally acquired FIBER OPTIC INTERNET connection for more reliable and fast connection up to 100Mbps. Since then, we no longer have internet issue.

Villa Sukra is nestled in the tiny village of Sayan, in the same area with Four Seasons Resorts. The villa is built in the middle of rice fields, so it has beautiful surroundings and very quiet. You may hear the temple bells in the morning, see the villagers walking to ceremony in their traditional dress, or simply observe village life as it takes place in the streets and in the rice fields. The Balinese are shy but friendly. Feel free to walk through the streets and pathways and explore this beautiful part of Bali.
Here's a few important things that you will need to know about the area:
- RICE FIELDS CHANGE COLOURS
The rice paddy is alive and breathing. It goes through different cycles where the landscape around you will change colours depending on the season.
At the early stage of its cycle, the landscape will be filled of muddy earth and you will see farmers ploughing the fields, often hemmed by dozens of white herons flying around.
Once all the land has been ploughed, paddy is planted, and water is streamed to the field. This is when the loft will look like it's surrounded by body of water.
Then the paddy starts to grow, and with its growth, come different colours. At the early stage of its growth, you will see bright green, then as it matures, the landscape will turn to golden, and then eventually dark brown.
The whole cycle usually lasts 3-4 months. So when you're staying at our loft, the view that you will see from your suite will change depending on the season.
- SMOKE & FIRE
Following the harvest, the farmers clear the fields to prepare them for a new cycle. This is when the straws were burnt, and the smoke rises. The burning usually lasts for 2-3 hours and depending on where the wind may blow, this might cause inconvenience. This is however, a part of the reality in living so close to the nature.
- INSECTS AND THEIR ALLIES
Living so close to the nature, we do have living creatures crisscrossing our paths every once so often. In the dawn you will see hundreds of dragonflies, but at night you might also encounter some geckos. You will also hear crickets (or see different types of insects), and sometimes fireflies are also spotted around. There's not a lot of mosquito here, but it's always good to keep mozzy repellent handy, you never know!

- It's okay to check in late. But please kindly let us know the estimated time, so our staff can wait for you, because they don't live in the villa
A fully equipped kitchen is there for you to use. Or better yet, for the staff to prepare your breakfast!
Soft, luxurious towels are provided for you to cool off in the plunge pool, and more towels are there for your shower afterwards.
If you can bear to leave, Ubud is a short 10 minute taxi ride away with all of its world class restaurants, unique shopping and gifts, the bustle of Balinese ceremonial life mixed with the experience of yoga studios and wellbeing.
Feel free to use the private pool, kitchen, living area. All won't be shared with other guest. Make this your second home! There is a parking space for scooters in the villa too.
In the villa we have minibar with beer, coke, juice and snacks. The prices are very cheap, as we don't try to gain big profit from here. It's just another added facility for you. You'll find that the price is almost similar with the grocery store in town. So, enjoy!
Our onsite manager Wayan and staff Adi will be there during the day to assist you. They are an extremely sweet and gentle Balinese man and will be happy to help you find your way around Ubud and Bali.

Our villa is built in the middle of the rice field. There is only a path way leading to the villa. You will walk or ride a scooter for approx 400m from the last car park. I personally love to walk in because it's so beautiful surroundings there. Especially around 6pm, very romantic!
Walking to the nearest veggie restaurant is 5 mins only, and 10 mins for more food option. The most practical way is to ride a scooter or bicycle.

November 2025Responsive host. Had to request a change in villa and they were able to accommodate quickly. Staff are all nice and very friendly. The location is in the middle of rice fields so it was a bit hard to navigate to and from especially at night but it’s a peaceful location. I do think the villa needs some changes in some area (ie other furnitures are a bit outdated). Their staff made it easier for me, and assisted me in any possible way that they can. 5 stars for their staff.

The best part is the villa staffs who were very kind to help us with our luggages while checkin & check out as the villa is bit inside & requires to walk. Overall a great experience in UBUD.

October 2025Our stay at Villa Sukra was fantastic. The villa is incredibly comfortable and peaceful, offering total privacy with its own private pool, kitchen, and a relaxing bathtub. We appreciated the thoughtful touches like the complete toiletries. What truly impressed us was the exceptional service. One morning, we had a brief power outage. As soon as I messaged the staff, they came immediately and fixed the issue promptly. This level of attentive and responsive care is truly commendable. Highly recommended for a perfect Bali getaway!

October 2025This had to be one my favourite stays in Ubud, a villa in the midst of a small paddy field community. The Villa matched with all the descriptions and photos listed here, extremely peaceful and private. Dani the host was always a text away from arranging anything that was required. The attendants Bayu and his team were so friendly and helpful, always turned up with the biggest smiles! The route to the Villa may not be as straight forward as most places, but it is definitely worth it! 10-15 minutes away from all the main attractions in Ubud by scooter. September 2025Dani’s place is private, cozy, and very peaceful. The room was clean, the pool well-maintained, and the staff were kind and quick to respond. That said, the location is quite isolated and the narrow roads leading there can feel a bit challenging, especially at night. We had originally booked six nights but found it too remote for us. Dani was very understanding of our situation and altered our reservation. It was truly sad for us to leave early, especially with such a supportive and kind host. If you’re looking for a quiet, private escape away from the busy areas, this villa itself is a great fit.

September 2025Wij hebben onwijs genoten van onze stay hier. Het was rustig en buiten de stad. We hebben zelfs vuurvliegjes gespot in de rijstvelden waar onze Villa stond. Het was wel 10 minuutjes lopen naar de pick-up point voor de taxi’s, maar de omgeving is zo mooi dat je dat elke dag weer met plezier doet. Dani reageerde ook super snel, dacht graag mee en had goede tips.

August 2025Dani’s place in UBUD is about 10 minutes away from UBUD center. It’s a beautiful villa with all the necessary amenities. As a host, Dani was a great help as she gave good recommendations even before we arrived; she checked in on us before and after we left, which was really sweet. Extremely responsive and ready to help so 10/10 for the hospitality for Dani and her team. The location cannot be accessed by car so the team is happy to take the luggage on two wheelers. The day we reached, weather was a bit rough due to heavy rains and the distance was acting against us as accessibility to the main street becomes an issue. However, once the weather cleared up, we too hired our two wheelers and could go around easily. Overall, our stay was pleasant and we thoroughly enjoyed the property.

August 2025Dani's place was private and cozy. The staff were kind and responsive. Check in was super easy and the place was comfortable. I enjoyed the private pool as well. However, it's suuuuuper difficult to get to because it's super narrow and can seem scary at night due to the narrowness of the roads. So drive carefully or make sure your driver knows to ride carefully. But overall, great stay and cute neighborhood!

July 2025An sich ist die Unterkunft gut und vor allem der Austausch mit den Gastgeber war wirklich sehr gut! Auch die/der Mitarbeiter vor Ort war wirklich sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, allerdings war er leider nicht sehr oft vor Ort und auch der Eingangsbereich war wenig einladend, durch z.b. herumliegende Müll. Hauptsächlich hatten wir Probleme mit dem Bad. Uns kam das Bad allgemein recht ungepflegt vor. Der Abfluss machte immer Probleme und das Wasser war auch teilweise komplett weg. Positiv kann man aber noch die Lage erwähnen. Man hat es sehr ruhig, nur wer auf Grab (Auto) angewiesen ist muss ca. 10min zu Fuß gehen bis er abgeholt werden kann.

July 2025Nous sommes resté 3 nuits chez Dani et tout s’est super bien passé. Nous sommes arrivé tard le soir mais ce n’était pas un problème Dani et son staff qui sont venu nous chercher en scooter du point de rendez-vous jusqu’à la villa malgré nos 2 valises bien chargées. Super accueillant, ils sont restés disponibles tout au long du séjours et nous ont fait sentir accueilli. Le logement est situé dans des rizières donc très silencieux aux alentours avec quelques resto accessible à pied. En tout cas je recommande fortement ce logement! Si je repasse par Ubud je reviendrai sûrement :)

Needs little maintenance- noisy bed (changed later on request), linens were dirty despite special requests. (Again immediately changed on request) PS: flush is not habitual of tough candidates

En plus le fait d’avoir un restaurant juste à côté avec une réduction du fait d’etre loger là c’est très bien. Attention impossible de venir en voiture, par contre si comme nous vous arriver avec un chauffeur, une personne vient vous chercher avec un scooter, ils sont parfaitement organiser avec les bagages…

May 2025The room was super clean and tidy, and the pool was well-maintained. The toilet had good water pressure. Please note that access to the villa is not reachable by car—you’ll need to walk about 400 meters from the drop-off point. However, the staff are very helpful and will pick you and your baggage up with a scooter. Highly recommended for honeymoon couples. An iron is not provided, so do bring your own if needed. All other facilities worked well. We will definitely come again. A very peaceful, relaxing, and safe villa.

May 2025Dani’s place was awesome! My partner and I decided to extend our stay for one more day in Ubud last minute and Dani was very accommodating. The villa was ready before check-in time and the staff let us know that we can check-in in advance. Great facilities and amenities, the kitchen was well equipped, the pool was pretty clean and the bathroom was spotless! It was well located around the rice fields, so we had quiet and peaceful nights yet we still got to enjoy cute ducks in the rice paddies and dogs just greeting you on the street. We also saw plenty of fireflies during the night which made chilling in the pool so romantic! Huge thanks to Bayu for going out of his way to pick us up on the road when we got lost and helping us fix our scooter when someone with malicious intent damaged our tires. Will definitely come back here again!

April 2025I had a wonderful stay at this villa! The space was exceptionally clean and very private. It is perfect for anyone looking to relax in a quiet setting surrounded by beautiful rice terraces. Although it's a short walk from where cars drop off, it's still very accessible to walk or if you rent a scooter or use Gojek, as bikes can go straight to the villa. I also really appreciated the convenience and flexibility of being able to order food and rent a motorbike directly through the partnered restaurant and bike rental company. Highly recommended for a peaceful and comfortable stay in Ubud!

Dani and the team were incredibly helpful throughout our stay, from assisting with luggage to helping arrange bike rentals. Just a heads up - the property isn’t directly accessible by car, but it’s a short walk or scooter ride, and the team are more than happy to help with bags. We had a couple of small issues during our stay, but the team were quick to respond and sort everything out! Would recommend especially if you’re looking to explore the area on a scooter!
